In these past couple weeks, I have found what works with vellum and what does not.
1. Pinned points cannot intersect at any point of the simulation
2. Pinned points can be used to guide animation.
3. Use other surrouding geometry to force the right shape
4. Plant should start from open position and then close into a bud
While I got a vine growing working for the AI Jam, I want to use what I have learned to focus on creating a macro
unfurl of a plant, which means paying attention to the details.
Close Up Plant Growth Reference
In these videos, it is clear that the leaves start from a bud and then unfurl outwards. As the stem grows, a new bud develops
and the process repeats.
I also want to properly examine the processes of other artists instead of trying to figure it from scratch out myself. So to start off with, I am revisiting the Paul Esteves' Flower Projects video.
WHAT'S NEXT
1. Focus on getting a good macro visual given everything I have learned so far
